During his 27 years with IBM Jim held many leadership positions in procurement, commodity management, supply planning and held a leadership role for a critical project to align global commodity management with new product development.  This project was considered one of the key success factors to IBM’s return to competitive leadership in the mid 1990s.  It also reestablished IBM as one of the global leaders in commodity management.  He also managed procurement for IBM’s Server Division.  Jim’s leadership was key to the consolidation of procurement for all divisions within IBM which reduced overall costs by 30% while maintaining the quality that IBM’s customers expected.

In 2007, Jim was appointed Senior Director of Supply Chain at Augmentix where he established a supply chain organization incorporating suppliers in China and the U.S and supporting customer distribution in Europe.  He also worked closely with the marketing and sales teams on introduction of new products and new account activity.
