Melissa Muckenthaler

Melissa Muckenthaler is a multi-lingual marketing professional with expertise in strategic business planning and global marketing.  She has demonstrated success in developing and executing marketing strategies as an expatriate in Asia for a German global company.  Melissa returned to the US after working in Europe and Asia for the last 16 years.
Her marketing background includes her role as Marketing Vice President in Bangkok, Thailand for Bayer AG.  There she executed marketing initiatives, while setting up the marketing and sales teams.  Melissa consulted local management in analyzing the business, set 3 year strategic imperatives and successfully executed these throughout an 80 member organization.  She was instrumental in bringing the company from #15 to #7 in the Thai market.  Parallel to this, she developed and implemented new product launches as co-leader of Bayer Asia’s New Product Launch Team (Hong Kong, Australia and SE Asia).  
Prior to her time in Asia, she was Product Manager for Bayer Germany.  She led the launch of the company’s first “generic” product, the launch of a new line extension with another global health care company, and facilitated field force workshops and road shows all over Germany.  Melissa has also held marketing, product management and sales roles in the automotive and financial industries in Germany.

Melissa holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in Economics from UT Austin.  She is currently on the Board of Directors for ProductCamp Austin, a non-profit, 500+ marketing and product management group for high tech professionals.
