Jim Bledsoe Associate Partner
Jim Bledsoe has an intriguing mix of Fortune 100 executive leadership and start up, early stage entrepreneurial experience. He spent his first 20 years in progressively increasing roles at FedEx, starting as a part time hourly employee while in college and promoting through the ranks to Managing Director. He expanded his expertise over time, moving from HUB (sort) operations to field operations (ground and aircraft transportation) and eventually to Publishing Services. He authored his division’s application for the company’s Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, an honor that was bestowed on FedEx in 1990. In 1995, Jim was recruited to run one of the early pioneers in online commerce, Shoppers Express, creating the market for online ordering and delivery of groceries and pharmaceuticals. Later recruited to Pulte Homes, one of the country’s largest residential homebuilders, Jim became vice president of operations for the Mid Atlantic Region, the company’s largest ($700M in revenue, 2,500 homes per year). Since 2000, Jim has done consulting work, become COO of two companies, launching an innovative “green build” company, HercuBuild Incorporated. He has been chairman of the board for March of Dimes and has been actively involved in fundraising committees for the ALS Association. Jim is a graduate of Memphis State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in accounting.
